Arrangements under inclement weather conditions
- In case of tropical cyclone (typhoon) or severe rainstorm, the following arrangements will be implemented, as instructed by the Education Bureau.
Inclement Weather Condition |
Corresponding measures |
T1 Typhoon Signal Warning
Or
Amber Rainstorm Warning |
Kindergarten sessions will continue as normal unless the Education Bureau announces otherwise. |
T3 Typhoon Signal Warning or above
Or
Red or Black Rainstorm Warning |
The kindergarten will close for the session; students should stay at home. |
- If a T3 Typhoon Signal Warning is issued when a class session is in operation, the school will remain open and our teaching staff will take care of the students until the end of school day. Parents may arrange to collect their children before the end of the session under safe circumstances.
- If a Red / Black Rainstorm Warning is issued when students are on their way to school, or a class session is in operation, the school will remain open and our teaching staff will take care of the students until the end of school day.
- Under adverse weather conditions, parents should pay attention to the public announcements made on the radio or television channels for the latest update. Parents can also decide whether or not their children should go to school based on the weather and traffic condition of their own district.
Prevention of communicable diseases at school
- To prevent the spreading of communicable diseases at school through human interaction, students must receive health checks upon arriving school. If any symptoms are detected, the student will be temporarily separated from the other children; the school will then contact his/her parents to take him/her home and, if necessary, see a doctor.
- To avoid the spreading of germs at our school campus, students must remain at home and visit a doctor in case of sickness. Students should only resume school after being confirmed disease-free by a registered doctor. For more information about the arrangement of isolation for sick students, please refer to the “Sick Leave Recommendation for Students with Communicable Diseases” by the Department of Health.
